This Privacy Policy describes how Runs ("the app," "we," "us") collects, uses, and handles information when you use the Runs iOS application.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Display name — a nickname you enter during onboarding, shown when you check in at a court or invite others to a run.
- Court submissions — court name, address, neighborhood, description, and optional photos you submit through "Add a court."
Information collected automatically
- Anonymous user ID — when you first open the app, Firebase Authentication assigns you a random anonymous identifier. It is not linked to your email, phone number, or any personal account.
- Check-in data — when you tap "I'm running here," we record your anonymous ID, the court, and a timestamp to power live activity indicators.
- Game runs — if you create or join a run, we store the court, date/time, participant list (display names and anonymous IDs), and any notes.
- Subscription status — RevenueCat manages in-app purchase state. We receive whether your subscription is active; we do not receive your payment card details.
Location
- The app requests "While Using the App" location to center the map and sort nearby courts. Your precise location is used only on-device — it is never sent to our servers, stored, or shared.
How We Use Information
We use this data to show your name on check-ins and invites, power live court activity, let you schedule and join runs, unlock Runs Pro features, and review submitted courts. We do not use any data for advertising, cross-app tracking, or sale to third parties.
